About Bamboo Fabric spun from the soft fibres of Bamboo has many special qualities and provides eco-friendly style and comfort for any season.
Super Soft, Wrinkle Resistant & Easy Care The smooth, round structure of bamboo fibre means that bamboo clothing is soft and non-irritating, even to sensitive skin. Its natural elasticity provides a high level of wrinkle resistance. It’s machine washable and can be tumble dried.
Cool in Summer & Warm in Winter A cross-section of the bamboo fibre shows many micro-gaps and micro-holes making bamboo clothing highly absorbent and breathable. Moisture is absorbed from the body and released into the air, leaving you dry and comfortable. In cooler conditions it provides insulation, retaining body warmth by trapping pockets of warm air against your skin.
Odour Resistant, Hypoallergenic & UV Protective Unique, natural anti-bacterial elements in bamboo fibre are known as “bamboo-kun”. It allows bamboo clothing to be naturally more hygienic and to remain fresher smelling. This, along with the smoothness of the fibre and the absence of chemicals, means that bamboo clothing is hypoallergenic. Our bamboo fabric has been independently tested and given the highest possible rating of UV protection – UPF50+ (to meet European standard EN 13758-1). This means that our bamboo clothing will block at least 98% of ultra-violet radiation, making it an excellent clothing choice for summer.
Easy on the Environment & Sustainable Unlike cotton, Bamboo needs no pesticides, fertilisers or other chemicals to grow. It grows fast, and due to its extensive root network, requires no replanting. Its dense growth resists soil erosion and actually improves soil quality. It absorbs carbon dioxide and releases oxygen. The bamboo fibre/yarn, used for New Zealand Nature’s Bamboo clothing is grown without the use of chemicals in Sichuan province, China and is Oeko-Tex 100, Class I certified. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is the internationally accepted standard of testing for harmful substances and sustainability.
